Albums/EPs
Blood $moke Body - The Road Not Specific ⭐
The Southside Minneapolis group came out the gate swinging with this one. More of an homage to the classic hip hop sound, the EP stands out with its melodic samples, solid foundational beats and sharp lyricism from Nazeem and Spencer (aka Eslicky Ricardo). “Chicken Spot” had me driving to work with the windows down (yes, it’s like 20 degrees) feeling like a badass. Be sure to listen to the end for pop punk surprise. - Nikhil Kumaran
Naurriioo - NadoWorld (Deluxe)
Melayz - Irationale

Kion Rose, Mack OC - Leonardo’s Escape ⭐
St. Paul native Kion Rose has been making music since 2017, experimenting with hip-hop, R&B and afrobeats. For his latest single “Leonardo’s Escape” he teams up with Mack OC, a member of Afro-fusion collective Ozone Creations. This fun and sexy song highlights two powerful and versatile artists in the Twin Cities scene, with definite potential for global success. - Natalia Toledo

MAKR AN ERIS, Sophia Eris, MAKR, Bigg Kiaa - BIGG BAGG ⭐
With 2 tracks under their belt already this year and an upcoming show at The Fitzgerald Theater on the 25th, it feels like MAKR AN ERIS is on a mission to get BIGG BAGG’s all of 2024. When asked what it was like to make this song with MAKR AN ERIS, Bigg Kiaa described the experience as authentic and magical, which in my opinion aptly describes what happens when you combine MAKR’s upbeat production with the clear chemistry between Bigg Kiaa and Sophia Eris on the mic.

Wan Guru - bumblebee in space ⭐
I've been obsessed with "bumblebee in space", the newest single dropped by Minneapolis producer wan guru. Her music is transportive with undercurrents of hopefulness, an invitation to move. It sounds like spring, it sounds like making it through a winter, it sounds like sun on my face again. Has been & will continue to be on repeat. - Cat Grimm

Traiveon - Relax ⭐
With Obi original on the production and Traiveon on the vocals and a hint of lyricism from QT? it is easily one of my favorite collabs. R&B is one of those genres that you can never get enough of and this song is a perfect example. Remember when you could put on a song and immediately start blushing thinking of your crush? "Relax" is one of those. Lover season in full effect. - Maria Gonzalez-Grimes
